1 Samuel 30:8a "..and David inquired of the Lord," David didn't know what to do, so he asked God. If there's ever a time you don't know what to do, if it doesn't already tell you in the bible, ask God!! You can never go wrong asking Him what you should do!! When you follow his divine plan, things will turn out right! And when you ask, you have to be aware - aware of his voice, and aware of any people or things God might put in your life to show you what you should do!! Ask Him today!

Made by the Potter

Isaiah 64:8 "Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." He's our father... He's the potter and we are the clay. His job is to mold us into the men and women he wants us to be! You can make anything out of hard clay - the same way God has a hard time making you into the person he wants you to be when you have a hard heart. If the clay is hard, and he is still going to use it, he will have to add water - which in our lives could mean letting the rain pour down on us to soften our hearts... Let your heart be soft, so he can mold you into the person you are called to be!!!! We are the work of his hand!! He is an amazing artist, and we are amazing works of art!!!

My Purpose?

Psalm 139:16 "Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day." Before you were even born, God prepared every day of your life. There is not a day that you will be on this earth, that God has not planned out! You're not here "just because"... Every person God creates has a major purpose in this life that we have to work to find! Follow God's will so you can find out your purpose!!

Your Unique Life...

Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG) "I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." You are not where you are in life right now because of random choices, random people, and random places you've ended up at. Your life is completely planned out!! Everything in the past has happened for a reason to get you to where you are now! And his plan for each one of us, is entirely unique... Nobody in the past, present, or future will ever live the same life as you!! God's plans are not to abandon you, but to give you the future you hope for!! Can you smell it?

2 Corinthians 2:15 (MSG) "Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation-an aroma redolent with life."Do you give off an aroma that is full of Jesus and life? When others are around you, they should be able to smell the presence of God in your life. Whether you're around Christians or non-Christians, they should be able to tell that there's something different about you!! Follow Jesus, and send off a sweet smell to God and the people around you!!!!

Qualification or Character?

Psalm 51:1-2 "Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart;" God doesn't care how "qualified" you are, but he wants people with good character... People who's lives are blameless, who do what they know is right, and always speak truthfully from their heart! Does this describe you? If not, these are the things to work on!! Don't focus on qualifying yourself for the job God is gonna give you, but what's inside your heart!!

The Only Love That Will NEVER Fail!!

Romans 8:39 "neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." NOTHING can separate us from God's love. Isn't that amazing? No matter how many friends leave you, and human love fails you, God's love will always be there wrapping around you like a warm blanket. I wish everyone could feel the love of God like this!! Go give God's love to someone today!!! And breathe it in for yourself!!!

Honesty and Constructive Criticism

Ephesians 4:15 "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ." We always need to speak the truth in love... When you are in an authority position over anyone, and they need some constructive criticism, never be afraid to give it to them. Your honesty will grow the kingdom of God!! It is usually hard to tell people what they're doing wrong, but in addition to that, tell them what their strengths are!! It might be hard for them to take at first, but in the long run, it will be a great thing!! Be honest!!!

Sharing His Word

Isaiah 55:11 "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." God said that when we speak his word, it will NEVER return empty, but will always accomplish what he wants it to!!! We all need to take every opportunity to share God's word... We've got nothing to loose!! If we screw it all up, God promises that he will still accomplish what he wants with it!! Isn't it comforting to know that? Share God's word!!

Flesh and Spirit

Romans 8:8 "Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God." If you are living in the flesh, you cannot please God. The concept is simple - but doing it is a little harder! When you get the desire to do anything, stop and think - "Is my conscience or flesh wanting me to do this?" if it's your flesh, DON'T DO IT!!! Satan will try to trick us and tell us that worldly pleasures are okay as long as they make you happy, but that is a lie! Get out of the flesh and jump in to the spirit!!! Your flesh will fail you, but the spirit of God never will!!

The Righteousness of God

Romans 3:22a "This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe." Do you want the righteousness of God? This verse tells us that this righteousness is given to those who have faith in Jesus and are believers! There's no good works you can do to earn righteousness... It comes with faith and belief!! Put your faith in God, and don't try to earn your salvation or righteousness! It's called GRACE - it's given to us even though we don't deserve it!!! Have FAITH today!!!

Who You Are

Psalm 139:16 "Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." God made each one of us one-of-a-kind... There has never been anyone like you, and there will never be! Don't try to be anyone else, and if you don't know who you fully are, ask God to keep revealing that to you!! If everyone of us were who God made us to be, the body of Christ work brilliantly! God had your life planned before you were even born!! You be you!!!

Striving to be our Best

Colossians 1:10 "so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God," There is nothing you can do to make God love you more... But in EVERYTHING we do, we need to be striving to please him and to be our best!! Never stop growing - there is always some way that you can always improve and grow closer to God!! God's love for us is HUGE... Please him with your life!!!

Lost in all the Mess

Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." We are called to have pure hearts!! We shouldn't let our hearts get filled up with polluting stuff, but keep them clean so that God is the obvious thing. Think about it like this: your heart is like your room. Pretend you have one item in your room that is so important to you.. But every time your room gets dirty, the object gets lost or buried. That special object in your heart is God. When you let your heart get filled with things of the world, you loose sight of the most important thing... JESUS CHRIST!! Is the room of your heart clean? Don't let Jesus get lost in all the mess!

Inside Out

1 Samuel 16:7 "But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."" People look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart!! Hairstyles change, clothes go out of style, but the good stuff in your heart has no expiration date!!! We need to learn to be more like God... Don't ever judge someone by the way they look!! And we should care more about how we look inside than out!!! Start inside your heart, and work your way out!!

...For He will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Hasn't God already told us? Be strong and courageous, don't be afraid or discouraged, because the Lord our God is with us everywhere we go!!! Life is hard. And we will all go through trials and hard times in our lives... But what a comforting thought that God is always with us and wants us to learn to be strong and courageous!! Don't get discouraged - hold your head up high and be who God made you to be!! And remember that God loves YOU enough to stay with you always!! Happy Valentines Day!

Somebody LOVE somebody!

John 15:12-13 "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." Do you know how to TRULY love? With that unconditional agape love, and the brotherly phileo love? Jesus said that there is absolutely no greater love than to give up your life for your friend... Are you willing to sacrifice your life, or at least part of it for your friends? Jesus tells us to love each other as he loves us, and look what he did - gave up his life on the cross, so that his friends can have eternal life!! This week, work on having that deep brotherly love that is without conditions! Love like Jesus does!!

God or Sleep?

Mark 1:35 "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." Sometimes, in order to spend time with God with no distractions, you have to get up earlier than everyone else, maybe even when it's still dark. I'm sure Jesus wanted to sleep in too, but he loved his heavenly father more than sleep!! The same favor you feel while you're fasting and saying no to certain food, is the favor you will feel when you fight your flesh to wake up early to spend time with God!! God or sleep? Which one do you choose?

Satisfy us in the Morning...

Psalm 90:14 "Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days." When you wake up and read God's word in the morning, it gives you what you need for the day! So when we read God's word and he satisfy's us with his unfailing love, we should have the perfect amount of joy so we can shout praises to him everyday!! Spend time with God every morning, so he can satisfy you!!! Then when he does, be joyful!!

Putting on an encouragement mindset...

2 Corinthians 13:11 "Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you." Rejoice, strive to be completely restored, ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER, be in unity, and live in peace. Encouragement is so important. Do you have an encouragement mindset? When someone is struggling with something, ENCOURAGE should be the first word that pops into your head! People always need to be encouraged... Whether they did something good, or they are having a hard time doing something good, there's always opportunities to encourage!!! Put on an encouragement mindset today!!!

A poor widow, generosity, and you.

Luke 21:3-4 "Truly I tell you," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on." Do you value generosity? This poor widow sure did. Even though all she could give was two coins, she gave her all...those two coins were everything she had to live off of! The rich people didn't give anything compared to her! When you have been saved and you start to give to God, you will be blessed more than you ever have been in your life! And there's no need to "start small"... God asks for 10%! If you ever have the question in your head "How will I ever get enough money to...?" Just give more. I'm serious. It doesn't make sense to us, but it doesn't have to!! Be GENEROUS today!!!

RUN!!!

1 Timothy 6:12 (MSG) "Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses." Run HARD AND FAST in the faith!! Grab the eternal life that you are called to...the life that you got excited about when you became a Christian!! Run so fast that no one on the sidelines can trip you or tempt you to do anything else! And during the race (life), pair up with another runner (Christian), so you can help each other out when the hurdles come!! Run to get eternal life!!!

Its all about UNITY

Ephesians 4:4 (MSG) "You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly." As Christians, we are called to all travel together in the same direction on the same road...It's all about UNITY in God's church! We need each other!! It doesn't matter what denomination you are or what church you go to, if you are part of the body of Christ, you have to be in unity with other believers! You know when you meet another Christian somewhere (maybe a cashier at a store or server at a restaurant), there's that quick connection that happens? It's because they are your brother or sister in Christ!! It's all about UNITY!!!

Unnoticed.

1 Timothy 5:25 "In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not obvious cannot remain hidden forever." Does it sometimes feel like you are always doing good deeds, but nobody notices? Okay, well if they are obvious, people notice and so does God. And if they are not obvious, God still notices and one day they will be brought into the light! Never get discouraged doing what is right, because God always sees the good things you do!! You have an audience of one!!

In It To Win It!

1 Corinthians 9:24 "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize." Life is like a race... When you run, it's not just easy. You usually get to the point when you feel like you're going to pass out or throw up, and then there's sometimes when your adrenaline is so high that you feel like you could run forever. Doesn't that sound like your life? Your bible, church, and Christian friends give you the spiritual adrenaline you need to win the race! We can't just run the race - we need to be in it to win it. Get out there and share Jesus, shine your light, and love on people!! And when you go through a time when you feel like you might pass out, ask God for the strength you need to run!!! Are you in it to win it??

Cleaning up your Heart

2 Corinthians 7:1 "Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God." Since we have the bible to live by, let's purify ourselves from everything that makes us unclean!! So then we can start perfecting our holiness, because we love God!! Ask for forgiveness for anything that hasn't been settled, remove any music/TV shows/movies in your life that contaminate your heart, and get rid of ANYTHING else in your life that isn't good! Clean up the Holy Spirit's temple!!!

Who are you putting your hope in?

1 Timothy 6:17 "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment." Never put your hope in your money. It is so uncertain. The ONLY thing we should ever put our hope in, is God Almighty, who will provide all of our needs... And even things for our enjoyment. God makes it possible that if today, all your money went away, he could give you EVERYTHING you need in some way. Our God is so awesome... Put all your hope in him and him only!! Thank you Jesus!!!!

Never Satisfied.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 "Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless." If you love money, you always think you need more and you are not satisfied with the amount you have already! You can't love money and God, and nothing that money can buy you is better than God!! If you have been blessed with a lot of money, that is awesome because you have more to give!! If you don't have a lot of money, still give and God will bless you!!! Money or God? What will you choose?

"I have chosen the way of...."

Psalm 119:30 "I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws." Be FAITHFUL! To be faithful, means to be true to your word or reliable... Would people consider you a faithful person? Have you ever said you were a Christian, then turned around to someone else and said or did something that contradicted it? Be careful...because that's not being true to your word! Be someone that God can consider FAITHFUL!! Set your heart on God's laws!!!
