Daniel 6:23 "The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God." When Daniel was put in the lions den for praying, he didn't stop praying... He prayed and prayed and put his trust in God completely!! When the king came back the next day, Daniel was alive with no wounds whatsoever!! Prayer works!! Make prayer a lifestyle!! And trust in Him always!! He DOES hear you and he DOES care!!!

His job is to mold us into the men and women he wants us to be! You can make anything out of hard clay - the same way God has a hard time making you into the person he wants you to be when you have a hard heart. If the clay is hard, and he is still going to use it, he will have to add water - which in our lives could mean letting the rain pour down on us to soften our hearts... When you are in an authority position over anyone, and they need some constructive criticism, never be afraid to give it to them. Your honesty will grow the kingdom of God!! It is usually hard to tell people what they're doing wrong, but in addition to that, tell them what their strengths are!! It might be hard for them to take at first, but in the long run, it will be a great thing!! Be honest!!!

We shouldn't let our hearts get filled up with polluting stuff, but keep them clean so that God is the obvious thing. Think about it like this: your heart is like your room. Pretend you have one item in your room that is so important to you.. But every time your room gets dirty, the object gets lost or buried. That special object in your heart is God. When you let your heart get filled with things of the world, you loose sight of the most important thing... JESUS CHRIST!! Is the room of your heart clean? Don't let Jesus get lost in all the mess!

Hairstyles change, clothes go out of style, but the good stuff in your heart has no expiration date!!! We need to learn to be more like God... Don't ever judge someone by the way they look!! And we should care more about how we look inside than out!!! Start inside your heart, and work your way out!!

Jesus tells us to love each other as he loves us, and look what he did - gave up his life on the cross, so that his friends can have eternal life!! God or Sleep?

Mark 1:35 "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." Sometimes, in order to spend time with God with no distractions, you have to get up earlier than everyone else, maybe even when it's still dark. I'm sure Jesus wanted to sleep in too, but he loved his heavenly father more than sleep!! The same favor you feel while you're fasting and saying no to certain food, is the favor you will feel when you fight your flesh to wake up early to spend time with God!! God or sleep? Which one do you choose?

When someone is struggling with something, ENCOURAGE should be the first word that pops into your head! People always need to be encouraged... All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on." Do you value generosity? This poor widow sure did. Even though all she could give was two coins, she gave her all...those two coins were everything she had to live off of! The rich people didn't give anything compared to her! When you have been saved and you start to give to God, you will be blessed more than you ever have been in your life! And there's no need to "start small"... God asks for 10%! If you ever have the question in your head "How will I ever get enough money to...?" Just give more. I'm serious. It doesn't make sense to us, but it doesn't have to!! Be GENEROUS today!!!

Cleaning up your Heart

Being yoked means having a bond or tie. If you are a Christian, you should not be yoked with unbelievers!! Believers and unbelievers have almost nothing in common!! We should still share Jesus with them and be around them sometimes, but it is important that your best friend is on the same page as you!! Also, be careful not to date or marry an unbeliever!!

And sorrow is great when it's godly, but can kill you if it's worldly. Godly sorrow would be mourning, fasting, praying. But worldly sorrow would be hatred, depression, etc. Next time you go through something that causes you sorrow, go through it God's way!!!

Where the River Flows...

Ezekiel 47:9b (MSG) "Where the river flows, life abounds." This statement has two meanings and it is so true. This is true with sea life, because it cannot live in stagnant water - it has to flow! This is also true for us - Jesus is the living water - wherever he is flowing, people feel his love, and there is redemption!! Is the river of God flowing through your family? Your school? Your work place? Your church? Your town? Don't let his love dry up around you!! Keep the river of life flowing!! When we share his word, the river gets bigger!! When we talk to other Christians about what God is doing in our lives, it brings him SO MUCH JOY! Celebrate and tell people the good things God has done!!!

They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God." Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did whatever it took to only serve God - they disobeyed the king, which led to them being thrown into a fiery furnace! But, because of their faith, an angel of God came and walked with them in the fire... When King Nebuchadnezzar saw a fourth guy, he told them to come out. They came out completely untouched and because of all this, the king ordered everybody to worship God!!!

When you have faith and serve God even though it may cost you your life, big things happen and people will fall down and worship God!! Never be afraid to do what is right! Have FAITH!!!

Going through the Motions

And our perfection means absolutely NOTHING to God! He wants us to do our best in everything, but only He is perfect!!

This week instead of stirring up or making the problems worse, be a peacemaker!! Because peacemakers will be blessed and called Children of God.

Keeping Your Water Clean

The religion that God says is pure and faultless is like this: we're supposed to look after and love orphans and widows while they are suffering, and keep ourselves from being polluted by the evil in this world. Think of it like this : when you are born, you are like fresh, clean, spring water. Then every time you let anything evil in your life, you are letting leaves and dirt, and other stuff into your spring water, and it makes it unclean. When you become a Christian, God sends all your water through a purifier and makes you crystal clean and brand new! Don't let the things of this world pollute your brand new water!!! If it's polluted already, ask God to give you a fresh start!!!

Mark 14:3 "While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head." The perfume she used was so expensive and people criticized her for using it. It's possible that people put very high importance on it...maybe a little too high. It was great that the woman broke the jar of perfume and poured it all out on his head! Is there anything in your life that has a little too much importance (or maybe causes sin), that you need broken and poured out? Don't let anything be more important than Jesus!!
